As landscapers, we have a love/hate relationship with the rain. We know the plants and sod need it, and I’m so grateful for the beautiful, green glow of all the spring growth. However, our phones are ringing off the hook and more and more work is piling up. Scheduling is pretty much impossible. We just take it as it comes and do what we can in the breaks of the rain.
The chaos of the unpredictable weather and the amount of work to be done makes for some frustrating, tense moments in the office. This is where our amazing staff comes in. Most of our guys have been with us so long, they are family too. They usually chuckle in the back ground when we are a little snippy. (Charlie and I provide more entertainment for these guys than we intend to.) But, they also know when to step in and straighten us out.
Case and point – this morning I was shorter than I should be while talking to Charlie and Nacho puts his arm around Charlie and says, “Claire. The love is patient.”
How can you NOT love these guys? I may not always love it when they set me straight, but I need it.
Yesterday, Nathan gently reminded me, “My verse of the day is Proverbs 15:1 - A soft answer turns away wrath and a harsh word stirs up anger”. Later, when Charlie and I got home, he was laughing because Nathan reminded him of that as well. These guys are amazing and they keep us accountable.
So, in the midst of all this rain, I am SO thankful for the people we work with, for patient clients, and for the rain.
