Every now and then you get a client that you just love. Don’t get me wrong, I love all our clients. But, sometimes I just want to be friends and have dinner and maybe a glass of wine and talk about plants and designs and hold hands and skip down the road (okay, maybe not the last part). But, I REALLY love some people I get to work with.
This brings me to Chris Montgomery. I’ve been lucky enough to work with him on multiple projects over the last few years. There are lots of reasons he’s so much fun to work with and I think it boils down to this; he just GETS it. He’s a fellow horticulturalist. He knows his plants. He loves creativity. And he TRUSTS me. All of these things make for a happy collaboration between design and implementation.

I love that we can be totally honest with each other. If he doesn’t like one of my ideas, he’ll tell me. And if I don’t like one of his, I’ll tell him. And he still might do it anyway. And that’s okay. Even if it means planting Elaeagnus. He’s lucky I love working with him or that one might have done me in.
Chris is an account executive for Young’s Plant Farm and yesterday he was nice enough to take some time out of his day to show Nathan and me around the greenhouses. Talk about sensory overload! It was such a treat to get the behind the scenes tour from seed to basket!

The attention to detail and dedication to quality product is impeccable. In every phase of production and trial there is something they are doing to improve product. The trial gardens and production trials are constantly testing for the latest and greatest plants for your yard. We are so lucky to have facilities like this to provide such gorgeous material for us.

Who’s ready for some seasonal color?!
